Week 22

I wanted to make the thigh high socks for the character first as I thought it would be the easiest way to start. I started by selecting the Verts on the body where I would like the socks to go. Then I duplicated the faces and separated it from the body. Once separated I edited the socks to be a little bigger than the thigh so there were no clipping issues.

To finish off the socks I just extrude to the end of the foot and extrude the verts around the toes. lastly I make sure I connected all the faces so that there are no holes in the sock. I also edited the shape to give the toe out line so it looked more realistic. The reason on why I am making the socks have detailed, is because I was thinking of making it so that the player can remove the shoes, or replace them

Next part of the Outfit that I started to make are the boots. They were really easy to make, I basically duplicated the socks that I made and edited the bottom of it to make it look more like a boot then socks. How I edited it, was I deleted the bottom of the duplicated sock then extruded down then out and then down again which gave the shape of the boot, I then made the end a little more pointy to make it look like a shoe instead of a sock

Then I started to add detail to the knee high boots. I started with the top part of the boot, I wanted to add a folded part at the top, as a stylistic choice, as well as most of the reference I looked at like Raphtalia from Rising of the Shield Hero, or Chevreuse from Genshin Impact had that style at the top of the boot so I wanted to do something similar. I started by extruding up a little bit at the top of the boot then I extruded outwards and then down, which made the fold but I didn't want to have the whole top part of the boot folded, so I cut a dome shape in the front to make it look more like the reference images.

Next I deleted some faces near the knee section, this is where I will be adding in the Stitches of the boot, to make it look more stylistic I extruded the surrounding area of the boot to make it pop out more, then for the stitches I added in a box mesh, by pressing Shift + A, then selecting the box mesh, once I had the box mesh I shaped it to look like straps or stitches, and loosely placed them where they should be, I couldn't find a way to connect them. Something I learnt that was really useful for the straps, was that you can press Ctrl + L which will select all the Verts, Edges, or Faces which are connected to that object.

Lastly on the top of the actual shoe part I inserted inwards and then extruded down the small loop of faces to give a little more detail to the base of the shoe.
