Week 4

So, for this week I had to decide what type of character I wanted to make. In the end I went with making a Will O Wisp character as I thought it would be a tough challenge in terms of design. I looked a little into the mythology of Will O Wisps to see if I could use any details for the design, the best I could find is that they use Light and mislead people to danger.

Details about the character:

Hair: I want to either go with short hair like Ashley (12) from Resident Evil or Long hair like the previous example I gave (7)

Eye Mask: I was thinks of adding an eye mask to the character as I think it would work with the design of the character as well as with the mythology as it would explain why they get people lost because they also can’t see, I could also make it that only one eye is being covered, If I did also want to cover an eye but not have the Eye Mask/Patch then I could just use Hair(13,14)




Outfit: For the outfit I will be going for a Victorian Gothic or a Fantasy Gothic outfit, the reason on why I chose this type of outfit is because the mythology is based in Europe mostly England and the other reason is because the black/dark parts of the outfit will make it seem like the character is a flame in the darkness as I was going to make the characters hair a type of bright colour(15,16,17)





Face: I don’t know how to describe what I kinda want so I will just show you (18,19,20)


Basically, I don’t want to make the face too cute but make it more adult anime like.

Week 19

To start this Week I went back to the fringe and edited it around a bit to make it look better, I also added a few extra strands of hair to make it look more detailed and on top of the head I made a Cowlick. I start the Back of the Head by making two long strands of hair, and then editing them slightly so that they don't look too similar, as if the all the hair strands on the back of the head look the same it might look wrong and that it has been fabricated instead of naturel. This time I used the Mirror modifier to make the hair symmetrical, I don't finish the hair though, I just add a few more hairs by using the mirror modifier. Whilst I was making the Hair strands I was still keeping in mind to change the flow of the hair and the direction the bottom of the hair was pointing to make it look more natural. Week 17

Last Week I had done the feet, this Week I move onto the las body part needed for the model, which are the hands. Yet again I looked at the Youtuber 2AM for how he made the hands, because the model will be consistent if I follow the exact same guide all the way through. Like the foot we will start by making a box and loop cutting (Ctrl + R) it, but this time we will loop cut it 3 times along the Z and Y Axis, and once along the X axis. Then I scale the box down along the Y axis, I move the box up select the bottom faces and extrude them down along the Z axis to get the wrist of the hand. Then I delete the faces where the first finger would go, then like the foot I make a circle which has 6 edges, I scale it down to be about the same size of a finger and then I extrude it upwards along the Z axis. Week 20

Now that the Hair is done it is down to the last part of modelling which will be the cloths. I looked at 2 AM for his tutorial on how he makes cloths for his characters, he looked at games like Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star rail and how they design their characters outfits, and used some of the same methods to create an outfit for his character.  (39) He made the cloths by either selecting some parts of the body and then duplicating it, and separating it to get the cloths, or he made certain parts from scratch like the jacket, or the chains. This video is very helpful as I wouldn't know where to start on making cloths, but this video helps clear things up and simplifies it in a way which makes it easy to understand how to make an outfit.   Although I have a modelling sheet for my character and I have been following some of it and changing other parts, I was thinking that I could change the clothing or the theme of the character to something different, the first Idea was...
